System Tray
When Godot Launcher can use the system tray, it can keep running without showing its main window. Use the tray menu to reopen the launcher, launch a recent project, or quit.

Open the tray menu
Open the tray menu for your platform:
- Windows: Left-click opens the launcher window. Right-click opens the tray menu.
- macOS: Left-click or right-click opens the tray menu. Select Show Godot Launcher to reopen the window.
- Linux: Open the tray icon's context menu, then select Show Godot Launcher to reopen the window.
Select Quit to stop Godot Launcher completely.
Choose post-launch behavior
Open Settings > Behavior and use Project Launch Action to choose what happens after a project opens:
- Nothing keeps the launcher visible.
- Minimize minimizes the launcher window.
- Close to system tray hides the launcher when a usable tray is available.
See Behavior Settings for the other launch choices.
When the tray is unavailable on Linux
Some Linux desktops do not provide a usable system tray. When Godot Launcher cannot use the tray, it keeps the window visible or quits instead of hiding it. See Linux system tray troubleshooting for details.
Start with your computer
On Windows and macOS, open Settings > Behavior and enable Start when computer starts. Enable its nested Start in tray option to start without showing the main window.
Automatic startup is not currently supported by the launcher on Linux.
Quick-launch recent projects
The tray menu lists up to the last three projects opened through Godot Launcher on this computer. Select one to open it in its chosen Godot editor.
