Editor Install Location Settings

The Installs tab in Settings controls where Godot Launcher stores downloaded Godot editor versions.

Editor Installs Location​

Editor Installs Location sets the directory where downloaded editor versions are installed.

  • New official Godot editor installs use this path.
  • Existing editor installs are not moved when you change it.
  • A fast local drive is usually best if you work with multiple Godot versions.

Refresh Release Cache​

Refresh Release Cache deletes cached Godot release metadata and fetches the latest builds from GitHub again.

Use this when the install list looks stale or a newly published Godot release does not appear yet.

note

The refresh action has a short cooldown to avoid hitting GitHub rate limits.
